The Difference between Nutritionist & Dieticians
A nutritionist (also known as a nutritional therapist) works at optimum nutrition levels to support and help prevent chronic illness; therefore we will on many occasions provide a unique supplement program to support re-correct `imbalances. We look at the client from a holistic perspective and from scientific based evidence via diagnostic testing. We believe that each individual has a different genetic make-up (genomics) and take into account how the interaction of environmental factors can switch on or switch off the gene expression and thus affect cell functionality; therefore we help treat the person not the symptoms. A dietician is a state-registered nutritionist who works on recommended daily allowances (RDA) levels which are set by the government and only on occasions will prescribe food supplements if there is a case of obvious nutritional deficiency. They tend to focus on a particular symptom and do not take into account the biochemical individuality of their patient. They tend to work with doctors or within the NHS.
